Moving Foward

Coming up: The First Pakistan India Management summit. Two days packed full of stimulating discussion will revolve around sessions on Leadership and Strategy (Track 1), Technology, Innovation and Growth (Track 2), People, Talent and Workplace (Track 3), and Emerging Issues (Track 4).

"The Pakistan India Management Summit is a significant milestone in the growth of the ties between the Indian and the Pakistani management professionals. It is a great opportunity for the business leaders from both the countries to share knowledge and insights and learn from each other. All India Management Association (AIMA) welcomes this initiative. The theme of the summit "Leadership for New Economic Realities" is extremely pertinent at a time of crisis and transition in the global economy. AIMA applauds the remarkable effort by the Nutshell Forum and Aman ki Asha in organising the summit."--

Rajiv Vastupal,
President,
All India Management Association

"The summit promises to be an exciting opportunity for entrepreneurs and business leaders from both sides of the border to come together, share their experiences and hopefully enter into mutually beneficial arrangements. The topic 'Leadership for New Economic Realities' itself suggests the significance of the event - it is high time that we realise that the dynamics of existence have shifted to peaceful coexistence and cooperation."

Muhammad Ali,
Chairman, Securities &
Exchange Commission of
Pakistan

"We must take full advantage of this opportunity to build a long term cordial relationship between the two nations to exchange our views in an atmosphere of peaceful brotherhood. I am sure this effort will resonate well with business and thought leaders of the two nations to become an annual event to cement this relationship for our future generations."

Kaushik Roy,
President Brand Strategy & Marketing Communication,
Reliance Industries
Limited & Chairman,
IAA India Chapter

"This summit is being held at a time when both Pakistan & India are taking keen interest in improving their bilateral ties for the mutual benefit of the people of the region. This forum will certainly encourage Pakistan and India to come closer as over 100 Indian and more than 500 Pakistani delegates are likely to attend this summit. As Pakistan & India try to develop cordial and friendly ties, this event will not only usher in a new era of understanding among the leaders of the two neighbouring countries but also develop better people-to-people contacts in the region."

Yaseen Anwar,
Governor, State Bank of Pakistan

"It is a commendable initiative. The summit provides another opportunity for the business leaders from India and Pakistan to share insights and ideas in the prevailing global business climate. Both countries have large young populations and need to develop strategies to harness this vital resource for rapid economic growth."

Rajiv Kaul,
Chairman, Nicco Corporation & Former President, Confederation of Indian Industry (CII)

55_7-03-2011_1.jpgThe News on Sunday Special Report: India Pakistan prisoners
We probably didn't need to do this Special Report. Newspaper stories don't matter when it comes to Indians in Pakistani jails and vice versa. In fact, 'vice versa' sums it up. We do to them what they do to us.

Except when the two countries decide to begin talking, yet again! This time a little before the foreign secretary level talks, some Pakistani prisoners were released by India (and vice versa must have happened) and some more were release....read more
