Pakistan on Monday handed over 151 Indian nationals to their government at Wahga Border as a goodwill gesture by Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.

The prisoners, including 150 fishermen, were released from Malir District Prison, Karachi, and Nara Prison, Hyderabad. They were brought to Wahga Border by buses. They had been detained for violating Pakistan’s territorial waters.

Talking to the media at the border, the prisoners lauded the decision of the prime minister and said that relationship between Pakistan and India should be normalised for the progress and prosperity of the people of both the countries.

They also appealed to the Indian government to release Pakistani fishermen. They lauded the Pakistan government for providing facilities to them in jail.
