‘Peace to win if Pak, India govts so desire’

LAHORE: Peace will surely win if the respective governments of Pakistan and India intend to pursue the goal seriously, said Pakistan’s prominent women in a survey conducted by daily Jang.

They said peace will pave the way for prosperity and development for both the countries. Economic and social development is directly related to peaceful atmosphere, they added.

Zakia Shahnawaz, sister of Chief Minister Punjab said the outcome of any peace initiative will depend on the seriousness of intentions of the governments of two sides. The atmosphere of peace will surely be restored if the governments so desire, she added.

“We would also like to see India come forward with similar desire for peace as being felt by Pakistan  we want both the nations to make progress,” Zakia Shahnawaz said.

MNA of Pakistan Muslim League-Q, Atiya Inyatullah said the significance of peace between Pakistan and India at this juncture cannot be over exaggerated. “I praise the effort being made through Aman Ki Asha initiative, the struggle must be carried on with complete honesty,” she asserted.

Aitya Inayatullah said the desire for durable peace cannot be materialized in the absence of respect and equality.

Sajida Mir, MPA of Pakistan People’s Party said that the peoples of Pakistan and India completely support establishment of peace.
