Politicians hail Pak-India economic moot

ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting, Firdous Ashiq Awan hailing the Aman Ki Asha initiative launched jointly by Jang Group of Pakistan and Time of India newspaper, said the move go a long way in dispelling the ‘negative perceptions’ between Pakistan and India.

Talking to Geo News on the occasion of second Indo-Pak Economic Conference, the Information Minister said Aman Ki Asha has brought a breath of fresh air in an atmosphere of suffocation and that the initiative will help both the countries understand each other’s view point.

Zafar Ali Shah of Pakistan Muslim League-N also appreciated the holding of trade moot between the countries. He said it is his party’s manifesto to live in peace and harmony with its neighbors but at par.

Leader of National Party, Mir Hasil Khan Bizanjo said dealing with enmities for decades we have come to the second generation but it got us nowhere. “If we start visiting each others’ countries and initiate bilateral trade, it will ultimately lead to resolving other issues including that of Kashmir.”

Maulana Abdul Rauf Haideri of Jamiat Ulem-e-Islam (F), “We are in favor of making agreements of peace along with engaging in bilateral trade and business activities”.

Other leaders said the business community of Pakistan and India should be allowed one-year multiple visa so that they can freely travel across the borders.
