A message for peace

Pakistan’s Ghulam Ali and India’s Hariharan will sing for Indo-Pak peace at the Aman Ki Asha concert, which will be held in Bangalore on January 23

His is the one voice that people from India and Pakistan will find an instant connect with. For, Ghulam Ali has truly let his music transcend borders. Which is why, perhaps, when you ask him about the LIVE TOGETHER AND HAPPILY’ shared heritage of both nations, he’s quick to say, “Asal mein hamara aapas mein chain se rehna hi sabse behtar hai. Chahe koi bahari taqat disturb karne ki koshish bhi kare, we shouldn’t be led. We should be levelheaded, and jo bhai-bhai hote hain, unko ek doosre ko samajhna chahiye.”

For Hariharan, performing with Ghulam Ali is always special, and it’s not just because of the Pakistani ghazal singer’s immense popularity. “He’s someone I was inspired by when I started WHAT ARE WE FIGHTING ABOUT? performing ghazals, so I always look forward to doing concerts with him. Tomorrow’s concert in Bangalore will be all the more special because we’re trying to spread a message of peace,” says Hariharan.
