Times of India recently reported that Amitabh Bachchan was finally speaking out about the SRK and Shiv Sena enmity. Mumbai waited with bated breath for The Big B’s words to end the problem. To begin with, not only is Amitabh the ambassador for Aman ki Asha but a close confidante of Bal Thackeray, founder of Shiv Sena. Ram Gopal Verma’s Sarkar is said to be loosely based on Bal Thackeray and starred Amitabh Bachchan as Sarkar, which isn’t thought to be coincidence.
The paper reported that Amitabh “was reluctant to answer the (SRK) question first, but however when the question was repeated twice, he replied saying, ‘I think the topic has been stretched way too far. We should be talking about peace and harmony.'”
This is just the starting bell for the SRK versus Shiv Sena bout and Bachchan is choosing to be tight-lipped. Nonetheless, Bollywood is slowly finding its way to stand by Shah Rukh Khan’s side. One person in particular who strikes a chord is Abhishek Bachchan. Little B, Abhishek, is opting to stick up for close friend SRK on Twitter and in print. It remains to be seen if Big B, Amitabh will wield his influence with the Sena Supremo to end this feud.
